The Rose and the Breeze

To the Rose said the Breeze.
“Don’t lace me with your fragrance, please.
It makes my heart so tender, that I wonder, how will I ever go away.
Your love touches me to the core, just be there and say no more”

The Rose protested
“How can I be a rose and not be a rose?”
But the Breeze was adamant.

Love relents to no one but to the beloved...and that’s where his might turns into his plight.
One night, the Rose tried to curb his fragrance
and petal by petal closed itself.

Next morning when the Breeze came there was no fragrance to welcome her.
She searched all around, and the Rose was nowhere to be found.
Only a lump of crumpled petals and few thorns...having the last laugh.

Expression is to love what fragrance is to rose.
If you curb one, you kill the other.
